Maurice Griffiths Tidewater built by Whistocks of Woodbridge in 1974. Iroko hull on steam bent oak timbers, Perkins 50hp diesel, bermudan cutter rig on a deck stepped aluminium mast in a tabernacle. Griffiths was a prolific designer, drawing many small boats that made yachting available to ordinary folk. The Tidewater is one of his signature designs, spacious and comfortable with 6 berths, good sailing performance and importantly able to take the ground. This is a super little yacht in great condition, very sensibly priced and ready to go cruising this season.

This was taken on board and along with the rest of the brief to have a fast and seakindly boat, easily handled with comfortable living accommodation and capable of being single handed if necessary. A substantial large volume yacht for her length, she has been meticulously maintained in the present 25 year ownership including re-fastening and keel bolts. Single cylinder Yanmar diesel, four berths with double forecabin. Very manageable low aspect masthead sloop rig, changed from her original fractional setup.
