Fairey Marine Huntsman 28 designed by Alan Burnard and built by Fairey in 1966. This is hull No.87. A superb example of this iconic classic power boat, the boat that singlehandedly forged a new market and became a very desirable accessory for many. The success of the design was helped with notable appearances in the Cowes-Torquay race plus an explosive feature in the James Bond film 'From Russia With Love'. This yacht had a major rebuild in 1990 and was then hardly used, spending much of the next 30 years inside a shed being polished. The blissful summer of 2025 saw her in new hands with excursions up and down the south coast, out the the Scillies and appearances at numerous classic boat events. An excellent example with modern Cummins diesels that will be stealing the show next summer.
Built in Scotland in 1915 as a sailing Seine Netter fishing vessel with a small auxiliary engine, she fished the east coast waters until 1968 wen she was sold into private ownership. Bought by the present owner in 1982 who then started a complete rebuild of the boat which completed in 2025. 90% of the hull is new with complete new decks, wheelhouse and systems. Rebuilt Gardner 6LW engine has done less than 100 hours. The interior is largely empty with 3 watertight bulkheads and could fitted out to a new owners specification. Clinker motor launch built by Nick Smith of Salcombe to his usual high standards. Unusually for a boat of this type and size, she has raised topsides forward with a small cabin giving a large double V-berth. This concept is most unusual but makes for an excellent family adventure/weekend camping boat that stands out from the crowd. 14hp Nanni diesel with very low hours, new all over 2-part cover and galvanised road trailer. A very complete boat that has hardly been used since new and is ready to go this summer.
Motor launch built by Robertsons of Sandbanks in 1955, possibly as a tender to a large Clyde built yacht. Used on the Thames by the current owner, she holds a BSS certificate valid until July 2025. Beta 13hp engine with new gearbox and a good road trailer. The boat has been ashore for a couple of seasons and has dried out, she needs some remedial work to get her back in commission. This work will be within the remit of the competent amateur so she would make an excellent hobby project for the right person and is priced accordingly.
A fascinating part of our maritime history, the Lynher is a Tamar Sailing Barge built to carry cargoes around Plymouth and the surrounding area. Rescued from the mud as a derelict hulk and rebuilt by a previous owner, she underwent another major rebuild which was completed in 2017 and she went into commercial work in 2019. The Lynher has been kept as original as possible with a deck layout much as it would have been when she was working. Below decks her cargo hold has been kept as a large open space, perfect for exhibition work. Of course this could be adapted to suit any future need and she could be looked on as a blank canvas for her new owners. Fitted with a Beta 75hp main engine and an electric wing engine to assist with manoeuvres. This is a very special vessel with a fascinating history.

Camper & Nicholsons yard were quick to realise the change in yacht construction when it came, and saw the future would be with GRP. They looked to adapt early on and built several designs in the new material, most notably the Nicholson 36. This example was built in 1962, still in the heyday of British wooden yacht building, and is one of their recognisable C&N yacht designs but with a GRP hull. The hull was laid up by Halmatic Ltd, experts in the new material, and finished by Campers with a varnished mahogany superstructure, cockpit and nice classic interior. These boats were raced a lot in the early years and will still provide their owners with exciting classic regatta racing, but are also excellent cruising yachts. A nice example of the class, well presented and ready to sail this season at £35,000woodenships.co.uk/sailing-yacht/camper-nicholson-36/... See MoreSee Less
