Designed and built by McGruers in 1929, originally called Rowan II she was built for a Dr Carlslaw who was well known for his cruising books, 'Leaves from Rowans Log'. An elegant yacht with a large cockpit and nice counter stern. Sadly an executor sale, the late owner was in the middle of a major refit which was halted. Full details of the exact work done in 2020 are available making it possible to accurately establish the current condition of the boat and what jobs are left for the new owner to take on. A lovely looking boat that needs an enthusiastic new owner
Built in Looe in 1896 as a long line fishing boat working out of Plymouth with the fishing number PH339. Major rebuild by Ashley Butler of Butler and Co. in 2007 which included a new keel, floors and keelson, some frames and a complete new deck structure. All bronze and copper fastened throughout. Recent Volvo 30hp diesel. 4 berths including a large double forward with 6'+ headroom in the saloon. A fine traditional working boat of a sensible size making her easy to handle with a recent documented refit history. 2021 survey report.
A very tidy example of the Saxon class, designed by Buchanan and built by Priors in 1962 to Lloyds 100A1 classification. Mahogany on CRE frames with a sheathed plywood deck. Well maintained by some careful owners with a well documented history. 5 berths with good headroom, Perkins 30hp diesel, good sails and rig. A nicely designed and some would say perfect size family boat, easily handled and a joy to sail.
Designed by a colleague of Colin Archer and built in Gothenburg in 1893 as one of 5 pilot cutters built for the Gothenburg Archipelago. This is an original Swedish Pilot Cutter with typical design features we all think of as strictly Colin Archer; the canoe stern, very generous beam, heavy displacement and incredible sea keeping characteristics. Rebuilt in 1990 with all new planking and decks. Her rig is identical to the original design plans. Ford 120hp diesel. Comfortable interior with 6 berths and good headroom.
East coast oyster smack built by Kidby & Sons of Brightlingsea in 1907. Complete professional rebuild finished in 2003, all new planking, frames, deck and interior. In present ownership since 2010, work has included all new spars and rig upgrades with recent racing sails. The engine with twin hydraulic drive legs gives her 7 knots cruising speed and excellent manoeuvrability. Interior has 9 berths, enough space for a full race crew. A jewel in the smack fleet, she is known as a fast boat and has been maintained irrespective of cost for the last 14 years.
33' sloop designed and built by Fantasi Yachts of Sweden, a yard known for high quality sailing yachts. This was one of the smaller boats in their range but is just as good in terms of build quality and materials used. Thorough professional refit in recent years included new mast and rigging, re-caulked decks, all new wiring and systems, new upholstery and good quality annual maintenance. 2024 refit including new deadwoods and keel bolts. Big volume yacht for her length with excellent headroom. 5 berths including a double up forward. Vetus 25hp diesel engine. Very capable cruising boat in fine condition.
Wee Seal II from the board of the late Iain Oughtred. The designed himself altered the designs of this boat for the commissioning owner, giving her bilge keels instead of a centreplate enabling her to dry out with no fuss. Professionally built hull and decks, fitted out by the owner. Recent cosmetic refit plus new outboard engine. Good condition road trailer. Small but mighty design perfect for weekend exploration and camping in quiet spots at the head of the creek.
North Norfolk 16 racing dinghy, designed and built by Uffa Fox for 2 sailing clubs on the Norfolk coast as their one design racing boat. The design is an enlarged International 14, slightly bigger to cope with the choppy open water conditions found locally. Rebuilt in present ownership. Complete with raid trailer and all over cover. A complete boat in lovely condition.
The first of the celebrated Laurent Giles Brittany Class, she was built in 1939 and was follwed by several other yachts to the same design. Known for their beautiful lines and superb sailing characteristics, it is very rare to see one of these boats come on the market. Well maintained with new decks, frames, planking and strap floors in present ownership. A top class pedigree yacht from one of our most successful yacht designers.
The first of the Landfall ketch designs to be built, launched in 1958 and built for the yard owner, Claude Whisstock. Iroko planking on oak timbers. Easily handled bermudan ketch rig. 6 berths including a double in the forecabin with 6' headroom throughout. Camper & Nicholsons yard were quick to realise the change in yacht construction when it came, and saw the future would be with GRP. They looked to adapt early on and built several designs in the new material, most notably the Nicholson 36. This example was built in 1962, still in the heyday of British wooden yacht building, and is one of their recognisable C&N yacht designs but with a GRP hull. The hull was laid up by Halmatic Ltd, experts in the new material, and finished by Campers with a varnished mahogany superstructure, cockpit and nice classic interior. These boats were raced a lot in the early years and will still provide their owners with exciting classic regatta racing, but are also excellent cruising yachts. A nice example of the class, well presented and ready to sail this season at £35,000woodenships.co.uk/sailing-yacht/camper-nicholson-36/... See MoreSee Less
Lindy II was the second of Harrison Butlers Davinka designs to be built after his very own yacht Vindilis. Lindy II was built at A.H. Moody & Son and retains her original bermudan yawl rig.
