Built in Holland for the retiring captain of the Dutch Royal Yacht, she was a no expense spared build funded by the Dutch royal family. It is said that Queen Wilhelmina and Queen Beatrix both learnt to sail in this yacht. She is a stretched example of the Englyn design, slightly bigger in all dimensions. Continually upgraded and well maintained, this is a fine yacht planked in top quality teak with a stunning and comfortable interior. Well equipped and in commission, a very special pedigree yacht.
A superb gaff cutter design from the board of Ed Burnett, sister ship to the well known Zinnia she was built by MB Yachts of Dorset in 2001. The third boat built to this now legendary design, she was completed to the very high standards expected of MB Yachts and is a wonderful blend of traditional design with modern materials. With lines clearly inspired by the traditional working boats, Burnett has created a wonderful yacht with capability and performance beyond that of her moderate 30' length on deck. The generous beam and construction methods create a spacious interior with 4 good berths and a headroom of over 6'1. The rig, carefully upgraded by her diligent owners, gives excellent performance proven by her regular successes in modern and classic regatta events. A remarkable yacht with Burnetts trademark sweet lines, superb performance and an extensive recent maintenance list.
Built to an American design by two Swedish brothers and sailed by them to the West Indies and back in the early 1960's. Bought by the present owner in 2002, she has been through several major periods of refit including all new laminated oak frames, a new interior including all systems, new teak deck in 2023 and new rigging in 2026. An unusual boat here in the UK with her very shallow draft at only 3' with the centreboard up. This allows access to areas most 40' yachts cannot go, including the European canals and makes her a very versatile and attractive design. Her rig is also unusual with a 'mule sail' on a roller between main and mizzen masts. The rig is perfectly set up for single handed sailing with roller headsails and a boomed staysail. A very fine yacht in superb condition that has been professionally maintained without concern for cost. 2026 survey available. Sensibly priced due to the owners personal circumstances meaning a quick sale is required.

A well proportioned, elegant and sea kindly cruising boat with many features long desired by the cruising yachtsman. The ketch rig is easily handled and offers numerous sail configurations depending on weather conditions and point of sail. With control lines led aft to the cockpit with an electric winch the rig is very easily handled even in rough conditions. Her large sociable cockpit and wide side decks make her easy to move about. The interior is split into 3 separate areas, doghouse, saloon and forepeak offering 6 berths including a double up forward. Good refit history, well maintained and ready for the season. 2025 survey available.

Camper & Nicholson were very sharp during the transition from wood to GRP and could see what the future was bringing. This Nicholson 36 was one of their early forays into GRP construction, designed by Charles Nicholson and actually built for Peter Nicholson. Because of their inexperience with the new material, they had the hull moulded by Halmatic who were the UK experts at the time. The design is typical of the C&N yachts of the time with elegant lines, and was finished with a painted wooden deck and varnished mahogany cockpit and superstructure so she looks like a true classic yacht. 7 berths with 1.84m headroom. Easily handled yacht, well mannered and very capable in classic yacht regattas.
Built in Denmark in 1934 as a fishing vessel, she worked in Denmark and the UK until sold to present shipwright owners in 1996. Converted to her current configuration between 1996-2000 with an elegant topsail schooner rig and comfortable interior giving 8 berths with excellent headroom. Gardner 6LXB 120hp diesel gives economical cruising. The boat holds an MCA Category 2 commercial licence for 12 persons and will be sold complete with all the safety gear and other equipment associated with the commercial licence. The boat has appeared at numerous traditional boat festivals around the UK and can command significant appearance fees due to the visual impact of the schooner rig. She has also served as a great family cruising boat over the last 25 years and due to her size is easily handled by a very small crew. A simply magnificent little ship with incredibly elegant lines in ready to go condition.
The second Vertue ever built, Sally II was launched in 1937 by Elkins who went on to become a prolific builder of Vertue yachts. Planked in pitch pine with bronze strap floors, lead keel and bronze keel bolts, all first class materials. Shipwright owned for 30 years she has a good 2019 survey and has been a reliable and safe cruising boat on the Scottish west coast for her owner. The Vertue is an iconic design from the 20th century, perhaps the most successful small cruising boat ever and this is one of the special and sought after early examples of which only 8 were built.

Lovisa was built by 2 Swedish brothers to an American design and launched in 1956. Over the next few years they sailed the boat through the European canals, across the Atlantic to the West Indies and arrived back in Falmouth in 1959. The American roots of this yacht are evident with her generous beam and clipper type bow. being a centreboard design, she only draws 3' with the plate up meaning she can creep into shallow areas otherwise off limits to most boats of this size. Rig set up for short handed sailing with roller furlers, boomed staysail and stack packs on main and mizzen booms. Aft cabin with a large double and a double cabin in the bows gives 6 berths in total. New teak deck finished in 2025. New rigging 2026. A really eye catching yacht in cracking condition. Sensibly priced as the long time owner would like to move her on before the end of the summer. Lying in Falmouth, Cornwall and priced at £60,000.woodenships.co.uk/sailing-yacht/40-bermudan-centreboard-ketch/... See MoreSee Less
