Built to a a very high standard with a focus on strength, capability and robustness, her hull is cold moulded with glass cloth inside and out, water tight bulkheads, enormous transverse floors and bonded cabin soles and joinery creating an incredibly tough and rigid hull. 8 berths with 7' headroom. Perkins 80hp diesel. A well proven boat that has won numerous classic sailing events and cruised extensively with the family owners. A structurally very solid boat capable of sailing anywhere in the world.
Buchanan Prior 37 launched in 1964 and built to Lloyds 100A1 classification. Built for a syndicate of 3 owners who campaigned her regularly in offshore races until she was sold to the present owner in 2002. Then started a 3 year major bottom up rebuild of the boat which required the whole interior to be removed, planking and frames replaced, new bronze strap floors, all new interior and systems. Since then she has been cruised extensively and continually upgraded with a new engine in 2022, new rigging and sails in 2017 and numerous other works. This is probably the most complete and turn key yacht of her type we have ever had the pleasure of offering for sale, a real gem from a dedicated and experienced owner. New insurance survey due winter 2025.
Designed and built by Rossiter Yachts for the present owners father, built to a very high standard and professionally maintained. Cruised by the present owner from Sweden to Biscay and Ireland. Very well equipped and ready to go yacht. Shallow draft with bilge keels enables her to access areas off limits to bigger yachts and take the ground without beaching legs. A really lovely and well cared for cruising yacht that has been in the same family ownership since new.
South Coast One Design, or SCOD, one of many of this class launched by Burnes Shipyard Ltd of Bosham. Designed and built in France, she was bought by the current owner in 2004 when lying in Turkey, remaining in the Med until 2011 cruising the islands and taking part in various classic regattas. Professionally maintained, she has benefitted from a complete new teak deck in 2018, new engine in 2012 and new rigging and main mast in 2015. Her rather unusual interior was a particular draw for the present owner as it is divided into 3 distinct areas offering separate accommodation for 6 people without being 'on top' of one another. A very elegant yacht, easily handled for short handed cruising but equally capable of classic regatta racing.
Zyklon Z4 tonner sloop designed by Dr T. Harrison Butler. 48 of these boats were built before WWII, gaining themselves a fantastic reputation with numerous Yachting Monthly articles about extended voyages in Z4 yachts. This yacht had a major rebuild finished in 2018 with significant hull repairs, new engine and systems and new rigging. Very nicely presented and in regular use around the Solent.
Buchanan Vashti Mk3, also known as the Queen Class 38, was the GRP version of Buchanans famous Vashti design, a yacht that proved her mettle as a fast and capable cruiser racer in the 1960's. Her robust GRP hull was moulded by Tylers and then fitted out by Priors who were used to building wooden boats, so her interior has a distinctly classic feel, something that often lacks on GRP yachts. Well maintained and continually upgraded with a complete new rig in 2022, race spec sails and a full inventory. A true classic in her own right, she qualifies for the classic regattas and makes for a very competent cruiser racer yacht with exquisite lines.
Camper & Nicholsons yard were quick to realise the change in yacht construction when it came, and saw the future would be with GRP. They looked to adapt early on and built several designs in the new material, most notably the Nicholson 36. This example was built in 1962, still in the heyday of British wooden yacht building, and is one of their recognisable C&N yacht designs but with a GRP hull. The hull was laid up by Halmatic Ltd, experts in the new material, and finished by Campers with a varnished mahogany superstructure, cockpit and nice classic interior. These boats were raced a lot in the early years and will still provide their owners with exciting classic regatta racing, but are also excellent cruising yachts. A nice example of the class, well presented and ready to sail this season at £35,000woodenships.co.uk/sailing-yacht/camper-nicholson-36/... See MoreSee Less
