The project needs completing but the hard work has been done. these yachts are very pretty and have a reputation for speed and sea worthiness. Very fairly priced given what work has already been completed.
Designed by Scot Daniel Fyfe, a relation to the first William fife of Fairlie and built on the Clyde in 1895 for Noel Guinness of the brewing family. Her lines are based on those of the Loch Fyne Skiff, a capable, seaworthy and very attractive Scottish vessel. Rebuilt by the current shipwright owner over a 27 year period, launched in 2022. Complete new hull, decks and interior finished to a very high standard. A superb blend of history, pedigree and modern practicality make this a rather magnificent yacht.
Arthur Robb Lion Class built by Cheoy Lee of Hong Kong in 1961. All teak hull with the major benefit of bronze strap floors. Recent refit including complete new rig, spars and sails in 2022. New keel bolts 2022. Very successful racing history on both sides of the Atlantic. This is a sparkling example of the class and is a superb cruiser racer with stunning looks, brilliant performance and a wealth of recent refit history. Attractively priced due to the owners circumstances.
Laurent Giles Vertue No.54, built by the present owners father over a 9 year period and launched in 1959. Bought back into the family in 2000 and she has been lovingly maintained ever since. Much work done around 2012. 2 berths with 6' headroom. Beta 10hp diesel engine. Her unusual feature is the wheel steering making her possibly the only Vertue with a wheel. Brand new mast fitted spring 2025 with new sail track, wiring and fittings.
launched in 1887, she was designed by the great G.L. Watson with inspiration from the Scottish Loch Fyne Skiffs. Her interior was designed by her first owner, Robert Cowan Robertson, who was an artist in the Glasgow area and created a spectacular interior design that has survived the passage of time and is nearly all original today. Her saloon joinery has been carefully restored to keep all the original panelling and features and needed only minimal repairs. Her saloon is a completely unique work of art. The yacht was totally rebuilt between 2009 and 2017 with 80% new planking and frames, new deck and all new systems. The restoration was sympathetic to the original design and has resulted in a very special and unique vessel that is in superb condition.
Gaff cutter designed and built by the current owners father, launched in 1953. Used for family cruising around the Bristol Channel, her enclosed cockpit makes a sheltered space. 4 good berths with standing headroom around the galley. Yanmar 2GM diesel had an overhaul in 2022. She is a real 'Tardis' with her size, an interesting boat with good interior volume and a nice history.
Bristol Channel Pilot Cutter built at the same yard and in the same year as the larger Olga. One of the smallest in the Pilot cutter fleet which makes her no less seaworthy but means she is easier to handle and sail with a small crew. Sailed extensively around Arctic waters in present ownership with adventures in Greenland and Svalbard, recent professional refit with a new mast, lots of deck planks, frames, wiring and other jobs. 7 berths including large double with good headroom throughout. Beta diesel, great rig and plenty of gear. Ready to inspire the next custodian to sail away on a Tillman inspired adventure. Reduced to a very low price in order to find the next deserving custodian who will appreciate this fine boat and continue her sailing adventures. The owner is less concerned about the money than about the type of buyer so all auditions welcome!
Designed and built by David Cheverton in 1958, she was awarded Yacht of the Year in 1959 after a superb racing season during which she largely wiped the floor in the UK yacht racing scene. The Danegeld class was launched off the back of her success. The boat is still raced regularly in the classic regattas and has been well maintained and updated over the years. New sails in 2012, complete new rig in 2016, new engine in 2023. 6 berths with 6'3" headroom. a fine looking yacht with superb pedigree and a reputation for being a fast and competitive boat. Excellent 2024 survey available.
65' Danish gaff ketch, currently with a commercial licence under the MCA to Category 2 for 15 persons total, plus a 1 ton cargo licence. Shipwright owned vessel since 2015, major refit of hull, rig, machinery and interior to create a rather special ship that is commercially licenced and working regularly this season. The deck house is a clever addition that hugely increases the useable interior space of the ship and makes life aboard much easier for the crew when on passage by having a sheltered and warm space. A super ship, fully up together and ready for the next chapter of her life.
Designed and built by Camper and Nicholson in 1951. Revolutionary build method where the planks were edge glued rather than caulked and payed. Elegant yacht with5 berths and excellent headroom. Thorough refit in 2021/2022 included re-splining of the hull, complete cosmetic refit inside and out, new electronics and other jobs. Fast beautiful yacht with good pedigree presented in very smart condition.
Camper & Nicholsons yard were quick to realise the change in yacht construction when it came, and saw the future would be with GRP. They looked to adapt early on and built several designs in the new material, most notably the Nicholson 36. This example was built in 1962, still in the heyday of British wooden yacht building, and is one of their recognisable C&N yacht designs but with a GRP hull. The hull was laid up by Halmatic Ltd, experts in the new material, and finished by Campers with a varnished mahogany superstructure, cockpit and nice classic interior. These boats were raced a lot in the early years and will still provide their owners with exciting classic regatta racing, but are also excellent cruising yachts. A nice example of the class, well presented and ready to sail this season at £35,000woodenships.co.uk/sailing-yacht/camper-nicholson-36/... See MoreSee Less
