Built by Coopers of Pill in 1887, she is the only remaining Pilot Cutter from this yard's sailing yachts. Totally rebuilt by RB Boatbuilding of Bristol, launched in 2016. The rebuild was very thorough with only a few small parts of the original boat left, the work has been done to a very high standard and the yacht is in excellent condition. She is smaller than most pilot cutters making her much easier to handle so she can be sailed with only 2 people. 7 berths including a double in the saloon. Twin electric motors with an 11kva generator. A very smart example of one of our traditional sailing yachts for sale, in as new condition but with all the history and pedigree that comes with a working boat of this age. 2017 survey available.
Built in 1959 for ocean racer Selwyn Slater as a larger development of his previous and successful Uomie. Ramrod had a distinguished racing career and was one of 3 boats in the '59 winning Admirals Cup team as well as victories in a number of other offshore races. Planked in two layers of Makore on oak frames with a sheathed plywood deck. Nanni diesel 37hp fitted in 2004. Big powerful rig with a good suit of sails. She is a true pedigree offshore boat from a spectacular era of British yacht design.
Inspired by the lines of a Bristol Channel Pilot Cutter and built by the owner, a professional shipwright, over a number of years and launched in 2014. Built from choice materials with all copper and bronze fastenings, her build quality is exceptionally good. She has undergone several seasons of trials and voyages including a round Britain expedition proving herself to be a very manageable and sea kindly sailing yacht. Cleverly designed dog house gives shelter on deck and a safe entrance to below decks. Large comfortable interior with 10 berths total. A fantastic sailing boat in a traditional vein with modifications to suit the modern sailor. VAT PAID.
Camper & Nicholsons yard were quick to realise the change in yacht construction when it came, and saw the future would be with GRP. They looked to adapt early on and built several designs in the new material, most notably the Nicholson 36. This example was built in 1962, still in the heyday of British wooden yacht building, and is one of their recognisable C&N yacht designs but with a GRP hull. The hull was laid up by Halmatic Ltd, experts in the new material, and finished by Campers with a varnished mahogany superstructure, cockpit and nice classic interior. These boats were raced a lot in the early years and will still provide their owners with exciting classic regatta racing, but are also excellent cruising yachts. A nice example of the class, well presented and ready to sail this season at £35,000woodenships.co.uk/sailing-yacht/camper-nicholson-36/... See MoreSee Less
