Designed by Starling Burgess to the 6 Meter rule and built by Herreshoff in 1921. Campaigned in England in 1921 as part of the USA 6 meter team and has remained here ever since. Planked in Honduras mahogany with lead keel and bronze keel bolts. Raced by professional crew in present ownership, she has won every regatta she has entered around the south coast of England. This is an exceptionally fast yacht that would seemingly rate extremely favourably under IRC and could prove to be a real gem of a regatta boat with the potential to winner a lot of silverware. International Dragon built by Pedersen & Thuesen for the Colmans mustard family, launched in 1956. She was one of 7 boats built with the same lines that had been exaggerated within the class rules, seemingly making these boats faster than many of her contemporaries. Major refit work in present 23 year ownership with a successful race record including winning the 2016 Dragon Classics. Complete with road trailer and race sails.
Lovely example of the West Solent One Design, totally rebuilt by Jamie Clay and Fabian Bush between 1990-2001. Raced extensively on the east coast by the previous owner with a very good record. Further professional refit 2025 has put her in excellent fettle. A very simple boat with no engine, basic electrics and largely original rig but she is in excellent structural condition and could be a very successful boat on the classic yacht regatta circuit. Built by Arthur Holt Ltd of Essex in 1977, a substantial gaff ketch yacht built in iroko on laminated iroko frames, all bronze screw fastened. Ketch rig with a gaff main and bermudan mizzen, she is an easily handled cruising boat with self tailing winches, furling headsails and autopilot. Very generous beam of over 12' means her internal volume is vast currently with 8 berths including a double in the forepeak and 7' headroom in the saloon. Camper & Nicholsons yard were quick to realise the change in yacht construction when it came, and saw the future would be with GRP. They looked to adapt early on and built several designs in the new material, most notably the Nicholson 36. This example was built in 1962, still in the heyday of British wooden yacht building, and is one of their recognisable C&N yacht designs but with a GRP hull. The hull was laid up by Halmatic Ltd, experts in the new material, and finished by Campers with a varnished mahogany superstructure, cockpit and nice classic interior. These boats were raced a lot in the early years and will still provide their owners with exciting classic regatta racing, but are also excellent cruising yachts.
