Designed as part of a competition for the Royal Swedish Yacht Club to stimulate innovation in yacht design. She was built in 1938 and given away as a prize in the yacht clubs raffle in 1939, won by a Scottish sailor who brought her home to Scotland where she has been ever since. Cruised on the west coast of Scotland for the last 30 years, she has been maintained to a good standard and recently had a spring refit ready for the summer season. 4 berths with heads and galley. Volvo 18hp diesel. A very elegant yacht with good pace.
Buchanan Prior 37 launched in 1964 and built to Lloyds 100A1 classification. Built for a syndicate of 3 owners who campaigned her regularly in offshore races until she was sold to the present owner in 2002. Then started a 3 year major bottom up rebuild of the boat which required the whole interior to be removed, planking and frames replaced, new bronze strap floors, all new interior and systems. Since then she has been cruised extensively and continually upgraded with a new engine in 2022, new rigging and sails in 2017 and numerous other works. This is probably the most complete and turn key yacht of her type we have ever had the pleasure of offering for sale, a real gem from a dedicated and experienced owner. New insurance survey due winter 2025.
Elegant Swedish cruiser racer yacht designed and built by the great Torre Holm. Brought to the UK by the present owner and raced in many classic regattas proving her as a fast and competitive boat. New Collars mast and all rigging in 2010, she has been used only very lightly since then. Perkins Perama M30 engine needs a rebuild or replacement unit. 5 berths with 6' headroom.
Kim Holman Twister class yacht built by Cardnell Bros. of Brightlingsea. One of the best examples of a Twister, built to a very high standard and well maintained. 5 berths with all original joinery. Beta 20hp diesel. A superb, fast and capable boat, previous class winner of Round the Island Race.
Designed by Starling Burgess to the 6 Meter rule and built by Herreshoff in 1921. Campaigned in England in 1921 as part of the USA 6 meter team and has remained here ever since. Planked in Honduras mahogany with lead keel and bronze keel bolts. Raced by professional crew in present ownership, she has won every regatta she has entered around the south coast of England. This is an exceptionally fast yacht that would seemingly rate extremely favourably under IRC and could prove to be a real gem of a regatta boat with the potential to winner a lot of silverware. Available to view as part of an open day of the yard near Southampton on 17th August 2025
International Dragon built by Pedersen & Thuesen for the Colmans mustard family, launched in 1956. She was one of 7 boats built with the same lines that had been exaggerated within the class rules, seemingly making these boats faster than many of her contemporaries. Major refit work in present 23 year ownership with a successful race record including winning the 2016 Dragon Classics. Complete with road trailer and race sails.
Buchanan Vashti Mk3, also known as the Queen Class 38, was the GRP version of Buchanans famous Vashti design, a yacht that proved her mettle as a fast and capable cruiser racer in the 1960's. Her robust GRP hull was moulded by Tylers and then fitted out by Priors who were used to building wooden boats, so her interior has a distinctly classic feel, something that often lacks on GRP yachts. Well maintained and continually upgraded with a complete new rig in 2022, race spec sails and a full inventory. A true classic in her own right, she qualifies for the classic regattas and makes for a very competent cruiser racer yacht with exquisite lines.
Designed and built by the owner, a time served Master Shipwright, this the 3rd yacht he has built for himself. Finished to an incredibly high standard throughout, she is an exquisite yacht in both design and build quality. Inspired by the West Country working boats, she was designed as a blue water cruising yacht that could be sailed easily by husband and wife in all weather conditions. This she has proven herself to be with voyages from Norway to the Mediterranean in recent years. 4 berths in a stunning interior. Easily managed bermudan cutter rig. A rather unique and very special yacht offered reluctantly for sale.
Designed by Kim Holman and built by Tucker Brown of Burnham on Crouch in 1963. Reserve yacht for the British Admirals Cup team in '63. An elegant and capable cruiser racer, described by her owner as the Aston Martin Grand Tourer of the classic yacht world. Major refit work over the last 10 years with extensive cruising around the North Cape of Norway, through the canals and down the St Petersburg. 7 berths in a delightful interior. The perfect classic cruiser racer for the modern world, elegant, easy to handle and very classy.
A very tidy example of the Saxon class, designed by Buchanan and built by Priors in 1962 to Lloyds 100A1 classification. Mahogany on CRE frames with a sheathed plywood deck. Well maintained by some careful owners with a well documented history. 5 berths with good headroom, Perkins 30hp diesel, good sails and rig. A nicely designed and some would say perfect size family boat, easily handled and a joy to sail.

The Peter Brett designed Dee 25 was his forerunner to the famous Riva range of yachts, proved by several notable inclusions in offshore yacht races including the Fastnet where the design performed exceptionally well even in very adverse conditions. This yacht has been in present ownership for many years and has had significant refit work carried out. However very recently some rot was discovered in the topside planking and the owner has decided he cannot continue with the boat as he does not have the time or inclination to get involved in another big period of refit work. The boat is being offered for £1000. She is currently stored in a shed at a boatyard near Dartmouth, the cost of storage is £320/month. She can remain here and be worked on once sold, or can be taken away on a lorry to a new owners choice of destination. The work will involve replacing several shifts of planking including most of the sheerstrake each side, a section of beamshelf midships and addressing some areas of rotten plywood subdeck on the outer edges of the deck. Photos in the post taken recently of the areas that have been uncovered. The boat has an excellent Sole diesel engine, good rig and a smart interior, she is well worth saving and it would be a shame to see her broken up.Any sale will need to be completed quickly and the price is non-negotiable. below is a link to her current advert with full specification and more photos.woodenships.co.uk/sailing-yacht/peter-brett-dee-25/...
