Ex. RNLB The Guide of Dunkirk launched at Rowhedge Iron Works in 1940. She was immediately pressed into military service and was heavily involved in the Dunkirk evacuations, rescuing scores of soldiers from the beaches. Because of this action she was later named Guide of Dunkirk in 1947. She served at the Cadgwith RNLI station between 1941-1963 when she was sold into the present private ownership. She has now been laid up ashore for a number of years but is in remarkably sound condition. A boat well worthy of the refit she requires due to her unique historic significance.
