Wooden Ships Comments on this 36′ Bermudan Yawl
Built in Dublin in 1912 by J.B. Kearney to his own design. Owned and sailed by Kearney until 1930. Originally a gaff yawl, she was converted to bermudan when sold in 1930. She has been in the same very experienced ownership since 1966 and was laid up ashore for many years undergoing a slow but steady refit. Launched in 2011 with a lot of new gear including rigging, sails, engine and systems, she is a well proven and well known cruising yacht with a well documented history and great pedigree.
In the 60’s and 70’s she competed in many offshore races with a large amount of success but in more recent years has served as a very comfortable and capable cruising yacht with the ability to put in fast passage times. Her new sails and slightly altered rig have made a huge difference to performance and handling making her a joy to crew on. The dog house is a great design feature for northern latitudes giving much welcomed shelter to the cockpit.
A fine attractive yacht in sound condition with a very full inventory and ready to sail. 2016 insurance survey.
