Bermudan Cutter designed by A.N. Prickett and built by Keith Nelson at his yard in Bembridge, IOW in 1952. Nelson later went on to produce the famous Nelson motor yachts which were very successful and are still very popular. Prickett was Chief Structures Engineer at Saunders Rowe, Cowes, and frequently had entries in Yachting World design competitions along with Dr Harrison Butler.
Used regularly by the current owner for cruising around the Solent and surrounding coasts, but ill health forces her sale.
A capable boat with a large cockpit and spacious cabin for her length.

Construction
Hull
Carvel planked in mahogany all copper rivet fastened to steam bent oak timbers.
External ballast keel with ferrous bolts.
Grown oak floors across the centreline.
Decks and Cockpit
T&G pine deck overlaid with marine plywood and sheathed externally in epoxy glass cloth.
Scrubbed teak toe rails and rubbing strakes. All bronze deck fittings.
Cockpit is non self draining allowing it to be deep and safe. Laid teak sole on plywood boards with varnished teak thwarts and coamings.
Superstructure
Varnished teak coachroof coamings with bronze portlights. Teak skylight on the coachroof deck.
Varnished teak forehatch.
Rig
The original standing rigging plan was said to be based on aviation principles and the metal fixings are to aviation standards of the 1930’s with rivets and stitch welds
Bermudan cutter rig on keel stepped solid varnished spruce mast. Varnished spruce roller reefing boom with varnished staysail boom
Standing and Running Rigging
Stainless steel wire rigging and rigging screws to external bronze chainplates.
Single lower shroud, single intermediate and single cap shroud with one pair of spreaders.
Twin running backstays to bronze Highfield levers on the side decks.
Staysail hanked to the inner forestay with staysail boom on a bronze fitting to the stemhead. Sheeted to a galvanized horse on the foredeck
Outer and intermediate forestay fixed to the stemhead, outer leads to the masthead, intermediate leads to the head of the jib 2/3 up the mast.
Jib works on a traveller with a Wickham Marine Furling system
