Wooden ships comments on this McGruer Bermudan Sloop

From the drawing board of James McGruer and Built by Harry Feltham in Portsmouth, who built 8 yachts to this design between 1954 and 1962. Albertine is a fine little 8-ton (Thames Measure) sloop. She is quite narrow with a fine underwater profile and a large wetted area, and as such is very seaworthy, with her solid construction adding to the feeling of a very well-found yacht. She also has a good turn of speed.

She has been well cared for over the years with all jobs attended to as needed, including keel bolts in 2009/10.  She had a quite extensive renovation in 2004 and still looks very good.

A clever use of available interior space makes her a practical cruising yacht for a couple or young family. She would suit those who appreciate the strength of tradition and quality that went into these boats.
