Wooden Ships Comments on this Ranzo class 4 tonner

The Ranzo 4 tonner was one of a host of small boats that emerged following the depression of the 1930’s allowing a generation of sailors to go back to the sea.

Built by Robertson’s boat yard in Woodbridge around 1936 to a design by W.Maxwell Blake.  The Ranzo was the predecessor to the better known Deben 4 tonner and is a very similar boat in many ways.

This boat had a major refit in 1995 and a copy of the survey done after the refit is available.
