Nordic Folkboat built by the famous Saxemara boatyard in 1966. Sail number 1015.
An exceptionally smart and well-maintained example of this pedigree classic, just a quick look at the quality of the timber through the varnish is enough to see this boat’s remarkable condition. Spring refit in May 2019, now in great order and ready to sail away.
She is a genuine Swedish-built Nordic Folkboat, the original and best Folkboats with a very nice pedigree. The sailing characteristics and performance of these boats is legendary, in many ways they are the perfect boat!
She comes with a road trailer and a full inventory of equipment so is absolutely ready to go.

Construction
Clinker planked in larch all copper rivet fastened to steam bent oak timbers.
Oak floors across the centreline.
Cast iron ballast keel of 1050kg with iron keel bolts that are fastened through the oak floors.
Marine plywood deck laid on pine deck beams. Deck sheathed in canvas and finished in grey deck paint. New paint 2019.
Varnished mahogany coamings with chromed bronze portholes. Coamings extend forward to incorporate the forehatch, an unusual and interesting detail.
Sheathed plywood coachroof deck with varnished mahogany handrails and sliding hatch. Fixed non-opening skylight in the coachroof deck.
Jammers and winches on the coachroof deck for halyards.
Transom hung rudder made of plywood. Varnished oak tiller.
Rig
Fractional bermudan sloop rig on a keel stepped varnished spruce mast. Varnished spruce slab reefing boom.
Stainless steel standing rigging in usual very simple Folkboat layout with a single pair of shrouds, split adjustable standing backstay and jumper struts to support the top of the mast.
Mainsail, jib and spinnaker in excellent condition. Spare brand new mainsail never set.
Pair of bottom action chromed sheet winches on the cockpit coamings plus a pair of Lewmar non self tailing winches on the coachroof deck.
All ropes led aft to the cockpit with jammers.
Machinery
Yamaha 5hp 2 stroke outboard engine on a bracket over the stern. 12l external fuel tank.
12 volt battery to supply internal lighting, navigation lights and GPS.
Accommodation
4 berths in a cosy and very smart interior.
Small galley area to port at aft end of the cabin, top folds out to create a work surface. Single burner gas stove below with lockers beneath and under the side deck.
Port and starboard settee berth with sitting headroom.
Twin V berths under the foredeck. All berths with good cushions upholstered in blue canvas.
The interior is finished to a very high standard in matt varnish, the quality of the timber and structure inside is clear to see and gives the boat an excellent feel.
