Traditional wooden gaff yawl for sale

The Falmouth Quay Punt was a class of working vessel around the port of Falmouth. The design was yawl rigged with a plumb stem, elegant transom and a god depth in hold. The lines were used often to build yachts as they had proved to be excellent sea boats and easily handled. This is one of the smaller examples at 26' but no less pretty or capable. Major 1990 refit in preparation for a long voyage which did not happen. 2011 Beta engine, 2023 keel bolts. A very pretty boat with good headroom and interior space, full of charm, history and pedigree.

Classic wooden gaff cutter for sale

Designed by J Pain Clark and built by Harry King and sons in 1911. With only 5 owners over the years, she has mostly been based on the east coast of the UK and used for local cruising and racing. She took part in the Fastnet Race in the 1950's for which a self draining cockpit was fitted. Originally fitted with a gaff sloop rig, she was converted to a bernudan sloop in 1924 and then changed again to a gaff cutter in 2010 by the current owner. In the present ownership she had a major refit between 2010 and 2013 with a new teak deck, complete new rig, refastened hull and many new frames. This is a very elegant yacht retaining many original features including her stunning cockpit, hatch and skylight arrangement. A competitive boat for classic regatta racing.

31' gaff cutter designed and built by A.M. Dickie of Tarbert in 1898 for the Laird of the Isle of Gigha, Scotland as a personal ferry yacht to access the island from the mainland. In the same family ownership since 1965, she has in recent years been maintained professionally, wintered undercover every year and sailed extensively each summer. An active vessel in the Old Gaffers fleet, she took part in the OGA Round Britain voyage and has cruised extensively around the east coast and over to Holland. 4 berths with good headroom and a lot of space for her length. New teak on plywood deck in 2000. 6 berths in a spacious interior which has been largely rebuilt in present ownership in solid paneled hardwood. Very spacious, deep and safe cockpit ideal for the family. Bermudan cutter rig with a boomed staysail and roller furling on the jib making her relatively easy to handle.
