Wooden Ships Comments on this 14′ varnished clinker motor launch
Clinker motor launch designed and built in Salcombe by Fred Bennett in 1995. She is based on the original local river launches often used for hire boats and is an elegant launch built and maintained to a good standard.
Fitted with a well maintained Yanmar 1GM10 engine.

Construction
Clinker planked in pine, possibly pitch pine, all copper rivet fastened to steam bent oak timbers.
Mahogany transom with a laminated oak stem.
Oak rubbing strakes with mahogany gunwhales. Rope fender all round.
Small fore and aft decks with straight laid mahogany planking. Bronze fairleads and cleats.
Mahogany thwarts with cushions and a seat back to the midships thwart.
Wheel steering from a small wheel mounted on the port gunwhale by the midships thwart.
Transom hung mahogany rudder.

Yanmar 1GM10 single cylinder diesel
Fixed 3 blade bronze propeller gives 5 knots.
Copper fuel tank hung under the foredeck.
Single lever engine controls by the wheel.
