20′ Motor Launch

Wooden Ships Comments on this 20′ Motor Launch

Built on the Isle of Wight in 1960, this large volume open carvel motor launch is likely to have been built as a pleasure boat rather than for commercial purposes.

Named Tumblehome for obvious reasons, her elegant stern shape with subtle sheer line make her an attractive boat.  Generous beam and high freeboard make her a safe and capable family boat.

New laid foredeck in 2017 and new shaft and propeller in 2018.

She has a fitted cover with integrated spray hood on a stainless frame which is a very clever feature.  The sprayhood can be lowered to make her totally open in fine weather, but if some shelter is required the hood can be raised to give some protection to the crew.  The integrated cockpit cover zips to the back of the spray hood and keeps the boat totally dry with good ventilation.  There is also a foredeck cover to protect the varnish.

A lovely big capable launch.
