Known as a Plymouth Waterman’s Boat, Dunlin was built by Blagdons of Plymouth in the 1950’s and is believed to have worked on Naval duties in Plymouth.

This is a big volume boat ideal for estuary and inshore picnic and fishing. The cock-pit is capable of accommodating 10 people.

A fixed roof over the forward helm position with a canvas extension makes her suitable for all-weather use.

The hull has a delightful sheer and is beautifully balanced on the eye, she sits well in the water and rises nicely to a swell making her a dry, stable boat even in a chop.

Conventional clinker planked construction,  believed to be pine, all copper fastened to close-spaced steam bent oak timbers.

The fore deck and aft deck are laid in varnished hardwood with seams payed in black butyl rubber.

The dog-house is built in varnished hardwood and gives over 6′ head-room.

Nav side lights are carried on the upper forward corners, windscreen wipers on both forward windows. Grab rails on the roof for security.

Mooring cleat on the fore deck, stbd sided chain roller on the stemhead.

Varnished midships thwart with double knees both sides. Varnished seats each side aft.

T&G aft bulkheads with varnished locker door to access the lazarette with fuel tank, chromed filler on aft deck.

Painted ply forward bulkhead with central varnished door to access the fore peak.

Steering by modern stainless steel wheel with Kevlar cables to the rudder aft. Wheel and tiller can be used without any disconnection.

Yanmar 2GM 20hp 2-cyl naturally aspirated diesel engine, center-line  installation to a center-line 3-blade bronze prop. Fresh water cooled with heat exchanger.

Dual Morse controls – forward at the wheel and aft by the tiller.

10 gall rigid plastic fuel tank under the aft deck with deck filler.

In-line filter and primary filter, both easily accessed.

6.5knts cruising speed @ approx 1/3rd gph.

2 x 12v batteries in the fore peak, one dedicated engine start battery, one heavy duty services battery.

Navman sounder and fishfinder.

Outboard engine bracket on the transom.

Mooring warps


Twin automatic bilge pumps.
