Wooden Ships Comments on this Bantham Motor Launch

Clinker motor launch believed to have been built at BAntham village, south Devon.  As long as can be remembered she has been berthed on the River Avon next to Bantham beach and maintained locally.

A pretty boat with a nice sheer line.  She has a good quality Lombardini 11hp diesel  engine plus an auxiliary outboard.

Construction

Clinker planked in mahogany, all copper rivet fastened to steam bent oak timbers.

Mahogany capping rails and a plywood foredeck.

Mahogany thwarts for and aft.

Pine sole boards.

Machinery

Lombardini LDW502M twin cylinder 11hp marine diesel.

Technodrive gearbox to a 3 blade bronze propeller.

Single 12 volt battery charged from the engine alternator.
