Wooden Ships Comments on this Fairlie Yacht Slip Motor Launch
Built in 1960 at the Fairlie Yacht Slip, one of two tenders commission by Dr Innes Lumsden for his converted ex. Admiralty trawler.
Bought by the current family in 1978, she has remained with them on the west coast of Scotland ever since.
An elegant boat, unusual for a launch of this size with forward mounted wheel steering and a small windscreen.
The aft seating area is sheltered by a large sprayhood on a folding metal frame which successfully protects the passengers in the back from spray, wind and rain.
Complete with oars and road trailer that has new wheel bearings and hubs, plus straps and lightboard.

Construction
Clinker planked in spruce all copper rivet fastened to steam bent Canadian Rock Elm timbers.
Oak stem and keel with a mahogany transom.
Straight laid teak foredeck and aft deck with teak covering boards all round.
Mahogany thwarts and engine box.
Small windscreen at forward end of the cockpit. Wheel steering with cables to the rudder.
Canvas sprayhood on frame folds up to protect aft seating area.
Machinery
Yanmar 1GM10 9hp single cylinder diesel engine installed new in 1992.
Recently serviced with new oil, filters and impellor.
Single 12 volt 45ah battery charged by the engine alternator.
Fuel tank of approximately 20 litres under the foredeck.
