Wooden Ships Comments
Built by McGruers on the Clyde for a Dr Innes, a local Doctor from Rosneath who had a bigger McGruers designed yacht built at the same time in 1967.
She would have been ideal as a tender, light weight due to her spruce planking, stable and a good load carrier but a joy to row.
Bought by the present owner after she was found languishing at the boat of a boat shed where she had been for 20 years. Thoroughly refitted last year, stripped back to bare wood entirely, minor repairs carried out and finished with 6 coats of varnish.
A delightful looking dinghy with very nice pedigree in super condition.
Clinker planked in Spruce with a mahogany sheer strake, all copper rivet fastened to steam bent oak timbers.
Oak gunnels with a white synthetic D section rubbing band.
Varnished mahogany transom.
Varnished mahogany thwarts with laminated hanging knees typical of McGruers dinghies at the time.
Slatted varnished pine sole boards
Pair of oars and rowlocks
