Wooden Ships Comments on this Merlin Rocket
Merlin Rocket, designed by Ian Proctor and built by Wyche and Coppock Ltd in 1961. She was finished as number 1225.
The Merlin Rocket was a box rule design where length and breadth had to be within class rules but the shape was up to the designer.
Complete with her original measurement certificate, she has been refurbished by the previous owner but is no longer used in current ownership so must be sold.
Complete with launching trolley, trailer and rig.
Construction
Clinker planked plywood hull with solid mahogany transom and centreplate box.
Painted plywood deck with grab rails fore and aft.
Transom hung drop plate rudder.
Rig
Bermudan sloop rig on a keel stepped alloy mast with alloy boom to original design.
