New England Bass Boat

Wooden Ships Comments on this New England Bass Boat

Built by Great River Boat Works of Mashpee, MA in 2002.  Based on the New England MacKenzie Cuttyhunk Bass Boats but built using modern wood/epoxy methods for a strong, light and low maintenance vessel.

Imported into the UK by the current owner and certified to RCR standards.  Certifying surveys carried out in 2022.

Designed as a fast fishing boat, she has rod holders and live bait wells in the bilge.  She does however make an excellent family boat, very stable, safe and with a lot of space, able to cruise at 17 knots very economically, she is great for summer exploration around the coast.  The sheltered space up forward gives somewhere dry to get out of the weather if needed.

She comes with a recent SBS 3000 road trailer so can easily be moved around if required.  All up towing weight of less than 3 tons.

The Steyr diesel engine is a modern light weight high revving diesel, parts are easily available and it is easily serviced and maintained.

A very unusual design this side of the Atlantic, she makes for a very practical family boat and really stands out for the crowd, so from someone looking for something that little bit special rather than the boring common RIB this could be just the ticket.
