15’ Norfolk Broads Rowing Skiff built by Cox Bros of Barton Turf, Norfolk Broads in the early 1960’s.
Refurbished by the highly experienced owner through 2025-2026.
Quite a wide beam for a rowing skiff in order to give the boat excellent stability for the more exposed areas of the Norfolk Broads.
Completely refurbished hull. Complete with launching trolley, road trailer and oars.
Recent refit work included:
- Hull stripped to bare wood inside and out. Finished with 6 coats of Epifanes varnish and painted through the bilge.
- Seams cleaned out and sealed with Sabatack flexible sealant.
- New stern thwart and back rest
- New sole boards
- Additional support to rowlock holders with new brass rowlock sockets
- New foot stretchers
- New rudder pintles
- New brass mooring rings and fairleads
- New keel band
- Oars stripped and finished with 6 coats of Epifanes plus new leather collars
- Trailer – Frame treated and painted, new bearings mudguards, winch and jockey wheel
- Launching trolley – New jockey wheel

Construction
Clinker planked in larch varnished inside and out. Copper rivet fastened to steam bent oak timbers. Mahogany rubbing strake.
Hull stripped to bare wood inside and out. Finished with 6 coats of Epifanes varnish and painted through the bilge. Seams cleaned out and sealed with Sabatack flexible sealant.
Oak stem and keel with a mahogany transom. Mahogany breasthook, quarter knees and thwart supporting knees.
Mahogany transom hung rudder with bronze pintles. Steering lines for the cox.
Varnished larch thwarts with a back support to the aft thwart. Adjustable foot stretchers for each rower.
Varnished pine sole boards.
2 rowing positions with oak blocks to take the rowlocks.
