Wooden Ships Comments on this Pearns of Looe Fishing Boat
Built by Gerald Pearn of Looe in 1967 as a local inshore fishing vessel.
She is typical of West Country fishing boats with nice lines and good sea keeping qualities.
Fitted with a Mercedes-Benz ON636 diesel engine. Injectors recently serviced.
Option to take on the current mooring near Falmouth which includes winter ashore storage.

Construction
Hull
Believed to be planked in mahogany, all copper rivet fastened to steam bent oak timbers.
Oak timbers overlapped across keel.
Decks and Cockpit
Painted plywood decks.
Large open cockpit with thwarts around the sides and aft end.
Superstructure
Iroko superstructure with a plywood wheelhouse roof.
Wheel steering with chains to the rudder stock.

Engine
Mercedes-Benz OM 636 4cyl diesel engine.
Hydraulic gearbox to a centreline fixed 3 blade bronze propeller.
Tanks
Approximately 100 litre stainless steel fuel tank under the aft deck.
Batteries and Electrics
2 x 12 volt batteries. Charging from the engine alternator and solar panel on the roof.
12 volt side mounted capstan windlass used for pot hauling and anchor chain.
Accommodation
Storage and sitting space under the foredeck.
