Wooden Ships Comments on this Uffa Fox North Norfolk 16

North Norfolk 16 designed and built by Uffa Fox in 1938.

This design was developed for the North Norfolk and Brancaster and Staith Sailing Clubs who had initially adopted the International 14 as their club boats, but wanted something a little larger and half decked to cope with the local conditions.  Uffa Fox came up with the design and built numerous examples himself.

This particular boat, Lively, was the fastest boat in the fleet in the 1938 season.

In present ownership for over 30 years, she has been raced in various events around Norfolk and south coasts and kept up to a very nice standard.  She comes with a road trailer and all over cover to protect the varnish.  The rig and sails are all in very good order and although she has not been used for a few years, she could easily be made ready for the water again without too much hassle.
