Built in 1918 as a Baltic Sea fishing vessel, the boat was bought by the present owners and professionally converted to yacht in 1995. They gave her a graceful gaff ketch rig with a healthy 120sqm of sail which pushes her along well. 9 berths in a separate aft cabin, saloon and forward cabin with full headroom throughout. 155hp Volvo Penta diesel. Built in 1936 for the then chairman of Coutts Bank, she is the only Gauntlet of this size ever built. All teak hull and decks, varnished from new but now painted cream. Rebuilt over 16 years in previous ownership with a new bermudan ketch rig on alloy masts. Present owners have updated the systems and used her as a cruising home for the last 18 months with a voyage from Scotland to southern Spain. Built in New York in 1934 to a design from Starling Burgess, a highly acclaimed engineer and naval architect. The design was heralded by Uffa Fox in the yachting press of the time.
