Wooden Ships Comments on this Edgar Cove sailing launch

Sailing launch built by Edgar Cove in 1959 at his Salcombe yard.

Typical of Coves boats of the time with an elegant sheer line, straight purposeful stem and a sharp bilge giving good stability and sea keeping.  Used y the present owner for exploring coasts and estuaries around west Wales, she is a very attractive and sound boat that is very unusual to come across.

At 18′ she is a very manageable size but big enough to take the whole family in safety, plus she can be easily towed behind a moderate sized vehicle.  Maintained annually by the owner and used every summer, she is not an immaculate show piece but she is a good sound boat with lovely pedigree and a very unusal and popular design concept that is perfect for many people.
