Wooden Ships Comments on this Iain Oughtred Acorn 15

Iain Oughtred Acorn 15.  The history of this boat is unknown but she was evidently built by a skilled person and has been finished to a nice standard.

The Acorn is an elegant design, sleek and fast under oar.  This type of construction makes for a stiff but lightweight hull requiring minimum levels of maintenance.

The nice feature of the boat is the rig, many Acorns were not built with the rig that was part of the original design.  The boat is a delight to row, either single or double handed especially with the Raid Blades oars with gates.

Nice looking boat in need of some tidying and a little new varnish but otherwise sound and ready to use.  Solid galvanised road trailer with new wheels.
