Wooden Ships Comments on this Edgar Cove Cabin Cruiser

Classic cabin cruiser designed and built by Coves Boatyard in Salcombe for a local man in approximately 1972.

Designed for coastal and river exploration with a sheltered helm position and a small amount of accommodation forward with a couple of berths, heads and galley space.

More recently a canvas tent has been fitted that completely encloses the large aft cockpit making her a real all weather weekend boat.  Capable of coastal passages, her shallow draft also allows river and creek exploration.

Professionally maintained for her current long term owners, she underwent a major professional refit between 2000 and 20003 which included much refastening of the hull with some new steamed timbers, complete new varnished sheer strake, deck, wheelhouse and cockpit.  Since the refit she has been moored and used in Salcombe, wintered ashore in a barn every year and kept up to a very good standard.

Her Lister Petter engine was installed new in 2003 during the refit and has been professionally serviced and maintained ever since.
