Designed by Uffa Fox and built by Fairey Marine Ltd in hot moulded construction which is immensely strong and lightweight. The owner’s father had her for 20 yrs but she has now been laid up ashore for some time and will need some work to re-commission.
A versatile design, able to take the ground but also a good seaboat, suitable for short-handed sailing as everything can be handled from the cockpit or the forehatch. Large cockpit for family sailing.
Construction
4 layers of diagonal Agba veneer, hot moulded, for the hull, coachroof and deck.
Wood floors, Sitka Spruce stringers, Canadian Rock Elm knees and brackets.
Twin retractable keels, 227kg each.
Self draining cockpit through keel slots. Tiller steering. SS deck fittings.
Rig – Fractional Bermduan Sloop
Deck stepped alloy mast, alloy boom, spinnaker and jib whisker poles.
SS standing rigging and rigging screws. External SS chain plates. Twin standing backstay.
1 x mast winch. 3 cockpit winches, self tailing, Barlow and Tuph.
Sails: Fully battened mainsail. Trysail, genoa, storm jib, cruising chute. Jeckells, 1997.
Machinery
Perkins 4108 27hp. Probably original. Centreline 3 bladed prop.
1 x manual, 1 x electric bilge pumps.
2 batteries.
Accommodation
4/6 berths.
Aft cabin, accessed from the deck, with 2 single berths.
Hinged bunk boards in the centre cockpit can provide 2 more berths with a cockpit cover.
Main cabin: Galley to port with a sink and Primus paraffin stove.
Chart table stbd. Seating and a table.
Forepeak with 2 berths, sea toilet and anchor chain stowage.
