Wooden Ships Comments on this Buchanan Viking Bermudan Sloop

Designed by Alan Buchanan and built by William Wyatt Ltd, Mersea, Essex in 1964 to Lloyds 100A1.

The design is known as a Viking, a sturdy and safe cruising yacht with good performance and a sensible size.  At 32’ she is not too large and difficult to handle, but large enough so as to have good headroom and internal space for comfortable cruising.

Bought by the previous owner in 2021, lots of work has been undertaken, mainly replacing the plywood subdeck around the covering boards each side and a complete re-caulk of the teak deck. Back on the market having been sold very recently, the new owner finding he is not in a position to own and sail a yacht of this size.
