Wooden Ships Comments on this Fred Parker Bermudan Sloop
Fred Parker design and built by A.H. Moody, Southampton in 1957.
Built to Lloyds 100A1 and kept in class until 1974.
A classic race yacht of the period and the second of a series of 5 yachts built for H.F. Edwards, a wealthy farmer and well-known racing yachtsman of the period. She has a well documented racing career from her early years.
In second ownership she spent some years in Portugal before being sold by Wooden Ships and returned to UK by road for a refit on the East Coast.
Sold again by Wooden Ships in 1996 to present owners who continued the good work and completed a very extensive refit, bringing this typical yacht of the period up to her current excellent condition.
Her refit featured in 5 issues of Classic Boat magazine over 2000 – 2001.
Now fully refitted, she will be a joy to look after rewarded by excellent fast sailing.
