Ice Bird was Vertue No.45, built for Dr Joe Cunningham to serve as his mobile base in remote areas of New Foundland, providing medical services to the local community. This he did in the boat after sailing across the Atlantic via the Caribbean and the eastern USA. Her design differs slightly from the standard Vertue with an altered coachroof, slightly higher topsides and a 2 spreader cutter rig. Recently updated with some new sails and all new rigging in 2021. 2 berths with 6'3" headroom. Volvo MD7A 13hp diesel engine. A yacht rich in pedigree in history kept in smart and sound condition.

Designed by David Thomas as a Quarter Tonner racing yacht which has been campaigned by various owners over the years. Her last IRC rating in 2016 was 0.866 which is very favourable compared to other GRP Quarter Tonner yachts making her a competitive yacht even in the modern fleet. She requires some tidying up of the varnish particularly around the stern. The hull and yacht are complete with rig, sails and an outboard engine. The boat sits on a double axle road trailer so can be towed away using a 4WD vehicle. A cost effective way of partaking in some very competitive racing with a boat that certainly stands out from the crowd.

The Yachting World Diamond Class was designed by Jack Holt as a competitive one design keel boat. This is the first example built using GRP, a new and exciting material at the time. Total professional rebuild in 2013/2014 where the hull was totally rebuilt, new rig and all new fittings and fixings. She comes with a custom made SBS road trailer and at only 1.5 tons can be towed behind a normal vehicle. Exciting and competitive sailing at a very reasonable cost.

She underwent a major refit in a previous ownership with a new deck and coachroof in 2006, complete re-fastening of the hull in 2008 plus new mast and rigging in 2011. not used much in recent years, she does need a gentle refit but appears to be structurally sound and dry. Spacious interior given the dimensions of the yacht. No engine fitted, she has a modern outboard that fits to the port quarter.

A fast and seaworthy cruising boat with a superb reputation, with her previous owner she voyaged to the Azores on a number of occasions. Given a thorough refit when purchased by the current owner in 2019 which included all new running and standing rigging, re-splining the underwater hull and checking fastenings and all new seacocks. 4 berths with good headroom. Yanmar 1GM 10 diesel. April 2022 survey listed a number of key items to be repaired, all of which has been done as well as varnish and paint work around the deck.
