Wooden Ships Comments on this Iain Oughtred Shearwater

The Shearwater is a planing hull dinghy designed by Ian Oughtred and another example of his prowess as a designer of small boats.  This boat was professionally built in 2004 for the current owner and has been used very little since new.  She sits on a new combination road trailer ready to be taken away and used.

The Shearwater is a fast and responsive boat with potential for some exciting sailing if desired, also capable of taking a bit of weather and chop.  Ideally crewed by two but she can take 3 and could also be easily sailed by one person with her simple rig.

When rigged her weight is less than 100kg so she is easily launched and retrieved making her a simple and hassle free trailer sailer.  Presented in superb condition with 2 sets of sails, outboard engine and all the extras needed for safe towing.
