Vintage wooden sailing boat

Vintage gaff sloop designed by Percy Crossley and built on Lake Windermere, the last of 3 boats built to this design and a very historically significant boat. Rebuilt by Dennets on the Thames between 2018 and 2019. She comes with a road trailer and all her spars, but the rig is not completed yet. A beautiful looking boat ready for a new owner to complete the rig work and get her afloat.

The Vertue II was the GRP version of the famous Vertue design from Laurent Giles, world renowned for their sea worthiness and capability despite their small size. This is the first and best example built and was displayed at the London Boatshow in 1979. Finished to Lloyds 100A1 classification and fitted out below in solid teak giving her the cozy feel of one of her wooden sisters. Refit in 2022 with lots of new gear to equip her for extended cruising. The design has been described as the 'greatest offshore cruiser' and certainly for her size that is not an exaggeration. A very capable, pretty and well built boat in nice condition ready to sail this summer. Survey report from November 2021.

Designed by Alan Buchanan and built by Priors of Burnham to Lloyds100A1, she was designed for racing in RORC Class II. She had a successful early racing career proving to be a fast and easily handled boat. A series of careful owners kept her well maintained and up to date with a new engine in 2018 and major professional refit in 2007/2008. Her last IRC rating in 2016 was 0.866 which is very favourable compared to other GRP Quarter Tonner yachts making her a competitive yacht even in the modern fleet.
