Wooden Ships Comments on this Buchanan Yeoman MkII

Buchanan Yeoman Mk II designed by Allen Buchanan and built by Priors in 1959 for an RAF pilot who used her for cruising and racing on the south coast of England.

The Yeoman MkII was a very popular and successful design combining beauty, manageability and speed in a very satisfactory way.  The boats are a sensible size making them easy to handle for a small crew or singlehanded but also having enough size, weight and capability to be successful offshore cruising and racing boats.

This yacht was bought by the present owners in 2011 and underwent a major refit over the next year with all the systems and machinery renewed, strap floors removed and refurbished, keel bolts checked, sails and rigging replaced plus the whole interior was replaced in mahogany to the original design with some very close attention to detail.

Raced extensively in the UK and the Mediterranean in current ownership with some excellent results proving her as a very practical and fast classic regatta boat but equally at home cruising with the family.
