Wooden Ships Comments

The Finesse 24 was a popular boat designed and built by A.F. Platt at his yard on the east coast.  Finesse yachts gained themselves a respected name for building shallow draft motor and sailing yachts perfect for exploring the east coasts rivers and estuaries.  The Finesse 24 somtimes had a lifting centreplate but this one, like many others, was fitted with bilge keels which enables her to take the ground easily.

Built in 1973 she has been lucky enough to have been in a very diligent and careful ownership for the last 10 years, during which time a lot of work has been carried out including all new keel bolts and bilge keel plates, new rigging and sails, complete strip back of paint and varnish and updating of equipment.  She is now a very sound, smart and complete cruising yacht that is being sold with a heavy heart.

An ideal family cruising boat the Finesse has a lot of space for her length with a large cockpit, manageable rig and tons of space below decks.  You may not win any races around the cans in this boat but you will be very comfortable and extremely proud of her.
