Wooden Ships Comments on this Stirling and Son sailing dinghy
Clinker sailing dinghy designed and built by Stirling and Son of Plymouth, launched in 2016.
She is a very attractive dinghy with a straight stem, attractive sheer line and a fullness to the bilge sections amidships giving great stability and buoyancy. An identical dinghy was sailed on several adventures, including a cross channel voyage to prove just how sea worthy and capable the design is.
This example is in near perfect condition and is complete with rig, cover, road trailer and everything else needed to get out on the water immediately. She has recently had a complete varnish job inside and out.
The high quality of workmanship is evident, for example the way the planks have been run into the transom is a particularly clear example that this is a dinghy built by very experienced craftsmen who have taken time to do the job properly.
Little else needs to be said about the quality, condition and provenance of this delightful dinghy, the pictures do the talking and she will be an absolute joy for anyone who is lucky enough to be her next custodian.
